What you bring and what you get
The skills and the vehicle
You can already read and write an ECU, diagnose a fault with live data rather than a code list, and talk to a customer on their driveway. You have, or will get, a van and the tools. If you are a good technician thinking about going mobile, or already mobile and tired of finding your own work, this is for you.
The files, the tools, the support
You get tuning files developed and tested on JF Automotive's 2,000bhp rolling road in Maidstone, for each engine and software version. You get help choosing and buying tooling, and a technical desk to call when a car does something the manual did not mention. That is thirty years of tuning behind you from your first day.
The customers, and your own page
Enquiries from your area come to you. Your county page on this site carries your name, your photo, your reviews and the towns you cover, and it ranks for them. Marketing, the website, the booking system and the brand are done centrally; you do the cars.

At JF Automotive in Maidstone or on a job. You see how the files, the booking system and the enquiry flow work, and we see how you work.
Set up
We sort out tooling, train you on the files and the process, build your page on this site and define your patch town by town.
Your first enquiries
They come to you from your area. You quote, we send the booking link, you do the job, and the customer reviews you by name.
Where we need engineers now
Kent is covered. The South East comes next, in this order, and then the rest of the country. If your area is not listed, ask anyway, because the plan is every county.
- East Sussex - Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes and the coast. A page already ranks for the area and has no engineer on it yet.
- Essex - Chelmsford, Southend, Basildon, Colchester and the London fringe.
- London - South and east London and the M25 towns. More people search for this work here than anywhere else we cover.
- Surrey and West Sussex - Guildford, Woking, Crawley, Horsham, Chichester.
- Everywhere else - The Midlands, the North, Wales and Scotland follow as engineers join. Tell us where you are.

There is no application form. The first step is a conversation, and the second is meeting at the workshop in Maidstone.

- What you do now: workshop, mobile, or thinking about it
- Whether you are insured for tuning and modification work
Questions engineers ask
Is this a franchise?
It is a network under one name, with the files, the website, the marketing and the booking system done centrally and the cars done by you in your area. How the money works is a conversation rather than something we put on a page, so ring us and we will talk it through.
Do I need to buy tools?
You need a tuning tool and diagnostics. If you have them, good. If not, we help you choose and buy the right ones and train you on them. We have done this for hundreds of dealers through JF Automotive.
Where do the files come from?
JF Automotive in Maidstone, developed and tested on their rolling road for each engine and software version. You install the file rather than write it, and you have a technical desk behind you if a car does something unexpected.
Do I get exclusivity in my area?
The model is one engineer per patch, which is what makes the county page yours. The details are part of the conversation.
